Yuriy Shkolnik is one of the most prominent figures in the history of Chernihiv and Ukrainian football. Under his leadership, Chernihiv's Dnipro experienced one of its most brilliant periods and gained a reputation far beyond the region. As the head coach of Chernihiv Oblast's main team, Yuriy Grygorovych played 374 matches, while as a player for Dnipro, he participated in 197 matches, scoring 73 goals.

His professionalism, principles, and dedication to football allowed him to nurture several generations of talented players who proudly represented Chernihiv on the all-Ukrainian level. His legacy extends beyond Chernihiv, as he coached teams such as Bukovyna from Chernihiv, Niva from Vinnytsia, and other Ukrainian clubs.

This tournament will be not only a sporting event but also an homage to the memory of a person who dedicated her entire life to the development of football and forever inscribed her name in its history.
