In Chernihiv Oblast, the traditional Memorial of Serhiy Shchystak took place — a tournament dedicated to the memory of the defender of Ukraine, footballer, and true patriot who died defending our country.
The matches were held on June 27 in the village of Chemer in Kiptivska Raion and this year gathered five teams: "Yednist" (Chemir - Novyi Shlyakh), "Progress" (Lemeshi), "Maiak" (Lyihachyv), "Guardia" (Chernihiv) and "Zolotynsha Friends of Serhiy Shchystak".
At the organizers' invitation, Chernihiv Oblast Football Association, First Deputy Head of COFA Sergiy Datsenko, and Deputy Head of COFA Anatoliy Swistun also participated in the solemnity. Representatives of the association honored the memory of the Hero and wished the participants a fair fight.
Also from Chernihiv Oblast Football Association, Chemir Lyceum received a set of footballs. The new equipment will be useful for students during physical education classes and training.

According to the tournament results, "Yednist" (Chemir - Novyi Shlyakh) became the winner, "Guardia" (Chernihiv) won silver, and "Zolotynsha Friends of Serhiy Shchystak" from Zolotynsha took bronze.
Chernihiv Oblast Football Association will continue to support initiatives that combine the development of football, patriotic education of youth, and the preservation of memory about Heroes who gave their lives for Ukraine's independence.
