At the Unity Stadium in Chernihiv, a championship of Chernihiv Oblast among veterans in the 35+ age category was held in memory of legendary coach and footballer Yuhym Grygorovych Shkolnyk. Six teams participated: "Veteran" (Koryukiva), "Veteran" (Novhorod-Siverskyi), "Veteran" (Pryluky), "Dolphin" (Nizhyn), FC Dnistrovka (Chernihiv) and FK Kudrivka.
In the first stage, participants were divided into two groups of three teams each. After that, the top two teams from each group advanced to the semifinals. In the first semifinal match, Chernihiv's Dnistrovka won against "Veteran" (Novhorod-Siverskyi) with a minimal score of 1:0. In the other semifinal match, FK Kudrivka also won against "Veteran" (Pryluky) with a score of 1:0.
In the match for third place, veterans from Pryluky convincingly defeated the team from Novhorod-Siverskyi with a score of 2:0 and won the bronze medals of the championship.
The final match delighted the fans with an interesting confrontation between Dnistrovka and FK Kudrivka. While Chernihiv's teams were stronger during the group stage, in the decisive match, the Kudrivka team took revenge by winning 2:1 and becoming champions of Chernihiv Oblast among veterans in the 35+ age category.
At the award ceremony, participants were joined by First Deputy Head of Chernihiv Oblast Football Association Sergiy Dyachenko, Deputy Head of COFA Anatoliy Svytun, Deputy Head of Chernihiv Oblast State Administration Ivan Vashchenko, and Honored Worker of Education, long-serving director of SDYSHOR "Unity" Volodymyr Kurbakov. Honorable guests congratulated the participants on completing the tournament, thanked the teams for their outstanding and uncompromising struggle, loyalty to football, and significant contribution to preserving the veteran sports movement in Chernihiv Oblast.
All teams were awarded cups, medals, and commemorative plaques from the Chernihiv Oblast Football Association. The organizers also recognized the best players of the tournament in each playing position:
• Best goalkeeper — Stanislav Srebnyuk (Dnistrovka);
• Best defender — Oleksandr Rybtsov ("Veteran" Novhorod-Siverskyi);
• Best forward — Oleksandr Datsyuk (Dnistrovka);
• Best striker — Ivan Kryvosheyenko (Dnistrovka);
• Best player of the tournament — Pavlo Shchedrykov (FK Kudrivka).

The championship of Chernihiv Oblast among veterans in the 35+ age category dedicated to Yuhym Shkolnyk became not only a sporting event but also a tribute to the memory of an outstanding coach, footballer, and mentor whose name will forever be inscribed in the history of football in Chernihiv Oblast.
