At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Andriy joined the defense of his native Chernihiv as part of the legendary 1st Separate Heavy Mechanized Siversk Brigade. He participated in combat actions on the most intense sectors of the front in the Donetsk Oblast, where he received a serious injury.
Andriy was awarded the Order of Defense of Chernihiv.
